LCI is proud to have sponsored the UC Irvine Chao Family Comprehensive Center Center’s The Anti-Cancer Challenge with several LCI staff and their families volunteering at water stops for the Run for Research 5K held at Angel Stadium on Sunday, June 11, 2017. The 5K run was part of a weekend event where people could cycle, run or volunteer to support a cancer free world and raise funds for lifesaving cancer research at the UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. As Orange County’s only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center, it provides expert multidisciplinary care to patients with every type of cancer — Cancer is not one disease, but over 100 different conditions! — and offer access to the very latest treatments through innovative clinical trials. 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to cancer research at the UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and its pediatric affiliate, CHOC Children’s.
There were 2,000 participants and over 6,000 people attended the two-day event. A Celebration Concert with Grammy award winner Sheryl Crow will be held for those who rode, ran, walked, volunteered and fundraised for the Challenge.
