LCI served as the landscape architect for luxury designer Anya Hindmarch’s Los Angeles flagship store at 8461 Melrose Place. Known around the globe for an instantly recognizable line of handbags and accessories with a irresistible sense of quirk, the LA store is also home to Anya Hindmarch Bespoke for custom creations with an in-house embosser.
The project was a re-imaging of an existing building to fit the vision of Anya Hindmarch’s iconic brand and to stand out on a crowded street. The exterior streetscape scene features playful boxwood globes undulating up and down, and an existing tree with sneaky eyeballs keeping watch over Melrose Place. The existing exterior red brick was painted black, accented with new Crittall windows and complimented with a lush green ivy living wall to bring a modern freshness to a traditional style. The brightly lit interior space features a giant inflatable smiley face by local artist Filthy Luker and bespoke furniture by Martino Gamper.
LCI would like to thank and acknowledge the Anya Hindmarch design team and the project team of Jones Lang LaSalle (project manager), LDA Design Group (architect), Howard Building Corporation (general contractor) and Habitat Horticulture (living wall).
