Our Services
LCI has a history of nearly four decades in providing full scope design services – client and team coordination; project planning kickoff; schematic design; construction documentation; plan check; construction administration; and project closeout. Our design service is focused on hardscape, irrigation and planting, but also extends to include site furnishings, signage, concept lighting, concept grading, habitat restoration and stormwater drainage best management practices. Additionally, LCI maintains an in-house irrigation design studio led by a certified irrigation designer/water auditor.
Our Project Approach
LCI works with clients to effectively identify and resolve critical issues encountered in a variety of site situations (new or existing) such as unique climatic conditions, air/water/soil quality, potable versus reclaimed/grey irrigation, water intensive plant materials, inefficient irrigation systems, stormwater drainage, and insufficient infrastructure. Our ability to weigh the initial and lifecycle costs against client criteria and budget constraints have consistently been valuable tools in determining practical and sustainable landscape solutions.
LCI’s planting and irrigation design focus on finding a balance between our clients’ goals, site requirements, and sustainability. Drought tolerant plant palettes, innovative irrigation designs and calculation metrics are utilized to save clients’ money by reducing water use and striving to exceed state and local regulations. Our goal is to set the industry standard for sustainable and water efficient site design. As stated above, LCI’s goals to deliver is not only sustainable, but also aesthetically appealing landscapes that reflect our clients’ needs, enhances architectures, and tells a timeless story.
Planting & Irrigation Design Components
Additionally, working with our civil engineering team partners, LCI’s projects are designed to improve stormwater drainage systems by reducing runoff, capturing for reuse, and improving water quality.
Our Sustainability + Water
Approach
LCI has completed over 30 LEED certified projects and developed a Sustainability + Water Management program to provide clients with a strategic plan for moving forward with cost effective design solutions related to site issues – water intensive plants, irrigation water use, drainage, and site infrastructure.
Our in-house irrigation studio has developed proprietary metrics for showing clients their current water use and solutions on how much LCI can save them. Additionally, the program analyzes stormwater drainage issues and opportunities for capture/reuse. The program focuses on existing site renovation/repositioning but can be applied to new construction sites as well.
